James "Chris" Christopher Strickland 60, of Whiteville passed Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Columbus Regional Healthcare.  He was born in Robeson County the son of Martha Boswell Strickland of Whiteville and the late Henry Strickland.

Chris retired from International Paper after 32 years.  Chris loved music and playing the guitar.

He is survived by his mother, Martha Boswell Strickland; a daughter, Kristin Strickland Clark of Wilmington; a sister, Angela Strickland Smith and fiance, Ricky Hughes of Whiteville; aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Strickland; maternal grandparents, Dave and Grace Ward Boswell; paternal grandparents, Fred and Grace Hardie Strickland.

His funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Buddy Seay and Dr. Kenny Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.

His family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to his service in the chapel.
