Danny Ray Freeman

Danny Ray "Frogstick" Freeman, Sr. 68, of the Buckhead community, Bolton died Saturday, August 4, 2018 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center.  He was born March 30, 1950 in Columbus County, the son of the late Chief Clifton Freeman and Vera Mae Patrick Freeman.  He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Freeman, Jr. and a brother, Lacy Dean Freeman.

Mr. Freeman was a Iron Worker Rigging Supervisor and foreman with Daniels, Yates, Fluor, BE&K, Yeargin, and many other construction companies.  He also worked construction assignments overseas, in Iraq for two terms as well as Argentina.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Jacobs and husband, Jake and Danielle Freeman; a son, Daniel Freeman; two sisters, Priscilla Freeman Jacobs and Glenda Eacho; two brothers, Clifton Freeman, Jr. and Don Patrick; a sister-in-law, Reba Freeman; grandchildren and great grandchildren; a special friend, Jacqueline Young.

His funeral service will be a 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Don Carter and Rev. Michael Jacobs. Burial will be in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

His family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home.
