Mrs. Darnell Columbus Smith 64, of Whiteville died Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at her home. She was born May 21, 1955 in Mecklenburg County, the daughter of the late Theodore Columbus Hough and Lucille Hartsell Hough.

She is survived by a son, Ray Allen Day, Jr. and wife, Diedre of Holladay, TN; a daughter, Sonja L. Day of Whiteville; a sister, Carolyn Smith and husband, Terry; grandhildren, Scott C. Day, Devin Ward, Adrian Day, Trinity Day, Ashleigh Day, Darnell Day.
