David Harold Summerlin

Mr. David Harold Summerlin, 69, of Clarkton, passed Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at his home.  He was born August 3, 1951, in Columbus County, the son of the late David Bryant Summerlin and Ava Lancaster Summerlin.

Harold was a member of Victory Baptist Church.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Margaret Amanda Tart Summerlin; daughter, Wendy Summerlin of Topton, NC; stepson, Michael Carr and wife, Connie of Clarkton; brother, Kenneth Summerlin of Chadbourn; sisters, Blanche Summerlin of Hallsboro, Evelyn Smith and husband, Paul of Virginia, Elsie Stevens of Hallsboro, Jane Ellen Simmons and husband, Richard of Boiling Springs Lake; three grandchildren, Ashton Cook, Jacob Carr and AJ Carr; two great grandchildren, Lucas Cook and Knox Cook.

His funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Victory Baptist Church by Pastor Gary Ledbetter and Pastor Eddie Watts. 

The family will receive friends 12:30 pm-1:00 pm prior to his service at Victory Baptist Church.  Masks are required and social distancing will be encouraged.

Burial will be in the Tart Cemetery, Clarkton, NC.
