Diane  Shelley 77, of Whiteville passed on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 In Shoreland Health & Retirement. She was born June 27, 1946 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Etheridge Fulton Cox and Vera Lee Ward Cox.

She was a member and Sunday School teacher at Williamson Crossroads Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing and making floral designs.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Shelley Powell of Fair Bluff; a son,  Christopher William Shelley of Fair Bluff; a brother,  Robert Cox of Leland, a sister, Alice Cox of Whiteville; grandchildren, Lane Shelley, Kaylyn Shelley and Hunter Powell.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Junior Cox, Gerald Cox, Gary Cox; a sister, Pat Sellers.
