Mr. Donnie Darrell Ward 80, of Old Dock passed on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Angel House Whiteville.  He was born October 12,  1945 in Columbus County, NC the son of the late Fletcher Lavon Ward and  Lena Long Ward. He was preceded in death by sisters Evelyn Faulk, Kathrine Ward, and brother Wade Ward.

He was retired from Federal Paper Board for 33 years. He was also a member and former deacon at Palmyra Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and gardener.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy Babson Ward; a son, Darrell Ward (Darlene) of Nakina; two daughters, Beverly Buck (Ken) of Nakina and Sabrina Kirchner (Adam) of Hampstead; sister, Thetus Faulk; grandchildren, Jennifer Ward, Kayla Buck Norris, Mallory Ward, Whitney Ward Canady, Kendra Buck Long, Lena Ward Munnerlyn, Carmen Buck; great grandchildren, Leah Canady, Jamie Canady, Brooklyn Canady, John Caleb Norris, Wrenley Munnerlyn, Lyla Munnerlyn.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Palmyra Baptist Church with Rev. John Roberson officiating.  Burial will be in the Formyduval Stocks Cemetery.

His family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 am Saturday prior to his service at Palmyra Baptist Church.
