Doris Hoffman (Sellers) Smith

Doris Hoffman Smith 86, of Lake Waccamaw passed on June 12, 2020 in Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Center, Whiteville.  She was born March 28, 1934 in Columbus County the daughter of the late Johnny M. Sellers and Drawdy J. Todd Sellers.

She was formerly Town Clerk of Lake Waccamaw, employed with Columbus County Industries for twenty-one years, a den mother with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, a member and  Sunday School teacher at Lake Waccamaw First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Hoffman, her parents, a brother, Francis M. Sellers, a sister, Maggie Jane Strickland.

She is survived by four sons, Robert T. Hoffman, Jr. and fiancé, Laura of Lake Waccamaw, J. Mark Hoffman and wife, Dana of Apex, G. Kelly Hoffman and wife, Michelle of Whiteville, Chad T. Smith and wife, Melanie of Raleigh; a sister, Betty Faye Sykes of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Taylor Hoffman Garbarz, Grayson Hoffman, Jackson Smith and Sofia Smith; two great grandchildren, Matilda Gray Garbarz and Mia Cali Hoffman.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 16, 2020 graveside at Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery.
