Doug Powell Obituary

Mr. Joseph Douglas "Doug" Powell 74, of Wilmington, formerly of Columbus County passed on Friday, December 24, 2021 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born August 14, 1947 in Columbus County the son of the late Joseph Melvin Powell and Frances Lewis Powell.

Doug retired from Occidental Chemical in Castle Hayne.

He is survived by a daughter, Candy Haynes (Ricky) of Kure Beach; two granddaughters, Carson Haynes and Piper Haynes; three sisters, Brenda Stanley (Bobby) of Whiteville, Saundra Horne (Randy) of Whiteville and Elaine Hinson of Whiteville; nieces and nephews.

His graveside service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Powell Cemetery, 13600 James B White Highway S, Tabor City, NC 28463.
