Dr. Essam Eskander, MD

Dr. Essam Sobhy Eskander, MD of Lake Waccamaw died Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Wilmington. He was born in Cairo Egypt the son of the late Sobhy R. Eskander and Elizabeth Evon Daniel Eskander.

Dr. Eskander graduated from medical school in Ciaro Egypt.  He served residences at the University of NC at Wake Forest, in  Minnesota and at Bowman Gray School of Medicine. His medical practice of more than 30 years was Chadbourn Family Practice in Chadbourn, NC.  

He is survived by his wife, Julia Kazantseva Eskander; two daughters, Katherine Eskander and Elizabeth Eskander; his stepmother, Mona Ghabrial Eskander of Alexandria, VA; step brothers, Essam Isaak Gouda of Burke, VA and Adel Isaak Gouda of Cairo, Egypt; two sisters, Suzette Iskander of Charlotte, NC and Yvette Iskander of Jacksonville, FL.

His funeral service will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 2, 2020 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Father Antony Zaki officiating. Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.
