Obituary
Efren Gonzalez Behena, age 14, of Hallsboro, NC died Tuesday, June 7, 2022 after sustaining injuries from an automobile accident. He was born March 15, 2008 in Mexico to Mariana Behena Martinez.
Efren was a student at East Columbus Junior-Senior High School in Lake Waccamaw. He loved to play video games, with his dog, Chacorta, reading and exercising. He wanted to travel and see the sights of China. Efren wanted to play football. He loved to eat at Zaxby’s and he loved cherries.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Axel Gonzalez Bahena; his Godfather, Ricardo Pacheco; his aunts, Guillermina Bahena, Concencion Bahena, Teresa Martines; his uncles, Jose Alvarado and Crescencio Bahena; his cousins, Yadira Composano, Yasmin Alvarado, Alex Alvarado, Jose Manuel Alvarado; his family’s friend, Camilo Ribon and his best friend, Kevin.
His visitation will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Peacock Funeral Home.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jubenal Salgado officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery.
