Ella Lee (Hardee) Thompson

Ella Lee Hardee Thompson, 94, of Whiteville, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at her home. She was born October 21, 1925 in Horry County, the daughter of the late Hiram Hardee, Sr. and Fadie Rich Hardee.

She was a Charter Member of Brunswick Baptist Church and a Sunday School Teacher since 1952. Ella Lee and her husband started Thompson Tire & Gas in 1953, she retired in 1984.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calton Thompson; parents, Hiram Hardee, Sr. and Fadie Hardee Harrelson; brothers, Hiram Hardee, Jr., Lee Roy Hardee, Billy Hardee; sisters, Grace Rich, Mable Jones, Edith Bowen, Eula Mae Jordan.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Thompson and wife, Brenda of Whiteville; granddaughter, Rhonda Gail Thompson and Michael Gore of Whiteville; special caregivers, Greta Blackman and Grace George.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in Columbus Memorial Park.  

Her family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Peacock Funeral Home.
