Esther (Sasser) Williamson

Mrs. Esther "Mema" Sasser Williamson 95, of Whiteville went to be with her Lord with family and friends by her side on Saturday, May 9, 2020.  She was born in Columbus County the daughter of the late Carl S. Sasser and Ethel Pierce Sasser. She was the widow of the late Bruce Williamson.

She is survived by a son, Larry Williamson and wife, Susan of Rocky Mount, NC; a daughter Brenda McLean of Hallsboro, NC;  four grandchildren,  Tammie Phillips and husband, Jonathan of Goldston, NC, Sidney McLean and wife, Lindsay of Hallsboro,NC,  Chad Williamson and wife, Emily of Whitakers, NC, Melissa Williamson and husband, Jim of Nashville, NC; eight great grandchildren, Brady and Brett Phillips, Brooks McLean, Winsley, Garrett, Redmond, Kayla and Alyssa Williamson; a great great grandson, Grayson; brothers, Shafter Sasser and wife, Dorothy of Hallsboro, NC, Eugene Sasser and wife, Iris of Whiteville,; sisters, Pat Russ of Whiteville, Doris Nichols and husband, Earl of Bishopville, SC, Sara Crawford and husband Charles of Whiteville.

She was preceded in death her husband, her parents, a son-in-law, Milton McLean, a brother, Jack Sasser, sisters, Leotha Jordan and Carolyn Hester.

Out of respect for family and friends, due to the unique circumstances of travel restrictions and health concerns, a private service will be held at Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers her family requests memorials be made to Hallsboro Baptist Church PO Box 86, Hallsboro, NC 28442.
