Eugene Sessions Obituary

Hearst Eugene Sessions (Geno) of Ocean Isle, North Carolina entered into eternal rest Monday May 1, 2023 at his home. He was born March 4, 1956 in Columbus County, North Carolina to the late Hattie Merle Hardee Sessions and Bobby Sessions of Whiteville. Gene(Geno) was a beloved member of the former Peace United Methodist Church that he grew up attending which is the present Peace Fellowship Church on Red Hill Road and taught a kid’s Sunday School class and helped Connie Todd one of his best Christian Friends teach her Adult Sunday School Class when she needed him and then became the adult Sunday School teacher when Connie took the kid’s class. He loved doing it and loved serving as a chairman of the trustees of the church and serving on the Administrative Council of the church . Gene was a car salesman his whole life in several cities in several states and ending up selling cars in Shallotte NC at Jones Ford dealership and he loved working there! In Gene’s recent years he met his most significant other Julie Bradley and her son Bradley. And so Gene devoted his free time helping Julie watching and playing with his their grandkids Aiden, Lilah Jaxon, and Evren which he loved doing.  He loved his new family! He also loved a best buddy Kane and his future in laws Johnny(Rhonda) and Brent.

Gene is survived by his most significant other Julie Bradley and her son and Gene’s older sister Cynthia Hansen’s and her husband Joe’s kids Caroline Attmore and her husband Bill in Raleigh NC and their kids Hattie and Hackney … and Cynthia’s son John Brickhouse and his wife Paige in Charleston SC and their kids Owen and Austin. Gene is also survived by his younger brother Bobby Sessions in Raleigh NC and he’s survived by his Mom’s sister Pauline’s and her husband Garlande ‘s son which is his first cousin Darrell Bordeaux and his family in High Point NC and his mom’s brother JC’s wife Frances Hardee in Chadbourn and her daughters which is Gene’s first cousins Alicia Thompson and her family in Chadbourn NC and Debbie Hardee Bullock and her family in Raleigh NC. Gene is also survived by his Uncle Jim’s wife Aunt Mary Jane Sessions and her kids and his first cousins’ : Ricky Sessions and his wife Carol in Goldsboro NC, Lynn Patterson and her husband Ralph and her boys Reggie and Ricky in Due West SC, Stevie Sessions and his wife Dana and Scott Sessions and his wife Amy and their girls Graceanna, Sealy Jane, Sara Catherine in Lake Waccamaw NC. Gene was preceded in death by his father Bobby Sessions and his mother Hattie Merle Hardee Sessions and Gene’s grandparents: Red Sessions and Frances Sessions Whiteville NC and Conley Hardee and Miriam Hardee in Whiteville NC and Genes’ oldest sister June Harper Southport NC and his first cousin C J Bordeaux of Lumberton NC.

Gene (Geno ) was a man of kindness always helping others and sharing God’s love and kindness to others . He loved all his family members of his uncle Jim’s family and His sisters’ families. June’s girls Morgan Harper and Julianne Hollingsworth and her husband Robert and Julianne’s girls Anna and Sierra and their family… and his sister Cynthia’s family. Gene loved spending time with all of them and his Uncle Jim’s family and Grandma Sessions every Thanksgiving every year watching all the kids in the families grow up and he truly loved the reunion every year. Gene also loved the families from Peace United Methodist church.  In lieu of flowers and gifts please make a contribution in Gene’s name to Peace Fellowship Church 4847 Red Hill Rd, Whiteville NC 28472. A memorial service is being planned by his family on Saturday, May 20, 2023, 11am at Peace Fellowship Church, 4847 Red Hill Rd., Whiteville, NC.
