Evelyn Lee Smith Reeves, of Nakina, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025. She was born March 10, 1928 in Brunswick County to the late Elmer and Evie Smith.

She is survived by her Brother, Charles Ray Smith; sisters, Dora Register and Mercedes Coleman; grandchildren, Benjamin Lee Reeves and wife, Amy White Reeves, Jonathon Dean Reeves; great-grandchildren, Brian Lucas Reeves and Charlie Austin Reeves.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Reeves Sr.; son, Carl Reeves Jr.; siblings, Joseph Smith, Mavis Woodard, Wanda Ayers.

Evelyn and her husband Carl were known for selling cookware in Columbus and all surrounding counties. She was a faithful member of Nakina Baptist Church.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 3:00pm at Peacock Funeral Home's Chapel with the Rev. Darryll Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the McKeithan Cemetery in Nakina NC.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Peacock Funeral Home from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

In the days to come the family will be receiving friends at the Home of Ben Reeves.
