Mrs. Frances Emette Tedder, 63, passed Thursday, January 28, 2021. She was born February 11, 1957 in Bladen County the daughter of Jack Edwards of Whiteville and the late Mary Frances Brown Edwards. She graduated Southeastern Community College in 1987 with a degree in cosmetology. She owned and operated Hair Fetish Salon and was a hairstylist for 34 years. She was named Columbus County Hair Stylist of the Year in 2020.
Emette had a personality that was larger than life. Her love and devotion to her family was always her priority. She was filled with so much joy, an amazing sense of humor and talent that was undeniable. God was the center of her life and he blessed her with many years of success in a career that she loved. Her legacy lives on in her husband, children, grandchildren and her salon family.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Silvan Franklin Tedder; father, Jack Edwards and wife, Betty of Whiteville; a son, Byron Tedder and wife, Meredith of Whiteville; a daughter, Mary Amanda Tedder and fiance, Rusty Hill of Whiteville; a brother, Ronald Edwards and wife, Ann of Whiteville; three sisters, Sandra Priest and husband, Greg of Council, Becki McDonald of Bladenboro, Judy Meadows and husband, Claude of Bladenboro; grandchildren, Briley and Connor Tedder; twelve nieces and nephews; and twenty-four great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and a niece, Wendy Blackwell.
Graveside service will be conducted 3:00 pm Monday, February 1, 2021 at Flynn Cemetery by Rev. Ronnie Wilson and Rev. Chip Hannah.
