George Long, Jr. Obituary
Mr. George Elbert Long, Jr. 75, of Whiteville passed on Friday, March 6, 2026 at his home. He was born May 28, 1950 in Columbus County, the son of the late George Elbert Long, Sr. and Eddie Mae Clewis Long.
He is survived by sons, Buck Long of Whiteville, Jimmy Rowe (Angie) of |Whiteville, Joe Rowe of Whiteville, Johnny Rowe of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren, Christina Long, Alicia Faircloth, Selina Rowe, Jessie Rowe, Tyler Long and J.J. Rowe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Bowen Long in 2017.
His funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 14, 2025 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Ervin Etheridge officiating. Burial will follow at the R & B Long Family Cemetery, Crusoe Island, Whiteville, NC.
