Glenda Faye Mitchell was born May 30, 1959 in Bladen County, to the late James and Roberta Mitchell. She departed this life on Sunday, November 2, 2024, at the age of 65.
Faye was a graduate of Hallsboro High School and received her associate degree in child development from Southeastern Community College. She began her work career at Whiteville Apparel where she worked till the plant closed. She later worked at Walmart for many years before transitioning to Lowes. In her free time Faye loved spending time with her family, tending plants, and shopping.
She leaves to cherish her memory, long-time companion, Bonnie Smith; five brothers; Jeffrey (Pam), Jerry (Charlotte), Timmy (Frances), Terry (Shevonda), and Ricky, a sister-n-law, Charlene, all of the St. James Community; 18 nieces and nephews; 21 great nieces and nephews; special friends; Lula Davis, Sylvia Brown, and Pat Andrews; and a host of family and friends.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, James and Roberta Mitchell, her maternal grandparents, Howard and Luticia Blanks, her paternal grandparents, Jervey and Gertrude Mitchell, her brother, James Sanford Mitchell, and a sister-n-law Blenda Mitchell.
Funeral service for Glenda Faye Mitchell will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2024, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Graylan Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Memorial Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
