Glenna Ruth (Pace) Hickman

Glenna Ruth (Pace) Hickman, 93, of Hallsboro, NC was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven early morning on Friday, March 15, 2024. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.

Ruth was born in Kentucky on November 13, 1932 to Alvin and Malta Pace. She was a God-fearing woman and passionate about her faith, her family and crocheting. She loved to crochet and often made prayer shawls and baby blankets for charity.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Hickman; her brother, Bill Pace; her sister, Ann Barfield; two daughters,  Sue Harrell and Mary Long; and three son-in-laws, David Herring, Eddy Morgan and Ricky Long.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Dianne Fowler (Stevie) of Green Sea, SC and Betty Morgan of Hallsboro, NC; brother, Gillis Pace (Brenda) of Hallsboro, NC; sister, Joyce McPherson (Eugene) of High Point, NC; brother-in-law, Harvey Barfield of Tabor City, NC; son-in-law Rex Harrell of Hallsboro, NC; grandchildren, Linda Creech (David), Jennifer Smith(Linwood), Christy Morgan, Kimberly Robinson (Quincey), Susan Harrell, Donna Burney (David), Melissa Hardee (Eddie), Brenda Fowler (Steve), Victoria Strickland (Caleb), Adam Long (Crystal), and Louis Fowler; 30 great grandchildren; 16 great- great grandchildren; many loving cousins, nieces and nephews; and was eagerly anticipating the birth of two or more great- great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 2:00pm at Peacock Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour before her service at Peacock Funeral Home.
