Golden Frederick Smith Obituary
Mr. Golden Frederick Smith 90, of Delco passed on February 17, 2021 at his home. He was born November 14, 1930 in Craven County, NC the son of the late Golden Jones Smith and Kitty Flossie Lee Smith.
He was a veteran of the US Navy having served in Korea.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Lucille Metts Smith; two sons, Gregory F. Smith of Delco and Gary F. Smith and wife, Susie of Riegelwood; two daughters, Melanie Trexler and fiance, Dan Ferrell of Leland, Melissa Skipper and husband, Richard of Castle Hayne; brother, Marvin Smith of Richlands, NC; sisters, Gloria Mooring and husband, Allen of La Grange, NC, Anna L. Craft and husband, Nelson of Trenton, NC, Mary Lee of New Bern, Glenda Holley and husband, Robert of Rocky Point, NC; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Dennis James Smith, a daughter, Baby Girl Smith, a sister, Flossie (Bobbie) Philyaw.
His funeral service will be 3:00 pm Sunday, February 21, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Delco by Rev. David Peterson, Rev. Kenneth Reeves and Rev. Ruffin Hill. Viewing will be Sunday, 2:00 PM at the church. Mask are requested and social distancing is recommended.
A private burial service will be held at a later date at the Veteran Cemetery in Jacksonville.
