Grace "Chick" (Williams) Barnes

Mrs. Grace “Chick” Williams Barnes 91, of Lake Waccamaw died Monday, July 8, 2019. She was born in Gaston County November 22, 1927, the daughter of the Jesse and Mae Ray Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Henry Williams, Bill Williams, Tom Williams; sisters Dessie Long, Lina Nord and Dolores Duncan.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Mitchell Barnes of the home; son, Jerry Barnes and wife, Tannis of Wilmington; two daughters, Elaine Speight and husband, Richard of Lake Waccamaw, Ginger Munching and husband, Aaron of  Holden Beach; grandchildren, Amber and Jeremy Barnes, Susan Watson and husband, Travis, Kathryn Hollis and husband, Patrick, Christina Bollinger and husband, Ryan, A.J. Munching and wife, Paige, Matthew Munching; great grandchildren, Parker Hollis, Kylea Bollinger, Oliver Bollinger,  Saylor Munching, Maddyn Munching, brother, Robert Williams and wife, Coke of Maryland; sister, Esther Varnam of Supply.

Her funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Lake Waccamaw First Baptist Church by Rev. Stuart Shumway.  Burial will be in Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Peacock Funeral Home.
