Hubert Britt Jacobs

Mr. Hubert Britt Jacobs, Sr. of the Buckhead community, Bolton passed on September 9, 2023 at Lake Waccamaw. He was born in Columbus County, NC the son of the late David Hilton Jacobs and Carrie Lee Freeman Jacobs.

Mr. Jacobs was a self employed truck driver.  He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea.  He attended Mt. Sinai Holiness Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Lucy Freeman Oxendine Jacobs, a son, Hubert Britt, Jr. of Buckhead, three daughters, Janine James (Christopher) of Wilmington, Charlene Freeman of Currie, NC, Candis Smith (Carlton) of Wilmington; a brother, William Jacobs (Cletis Mae) of Buckhead; a sister, Lauraine Hufham of Buckhead; a special grandson, Abrion Freeman of the home,  Shyanne Jacobs, Tristan Jacobs, Jessie James, Olivia James, Brianna James, Aaliyah Anderson.

His funeral service with military honors will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church with Rev. Michael Jacobs officiating.   Burial will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

His family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 pm Thursday prior to his service at the church.
