Hunter Morgan Obituary
Beloved son, Hunter McRae Morgan, 40, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at his residence in Lake Waccamaw, NC.
He was born on June 4, 1981 in Wilmington, NC to Karen Sue Best and the late Hobson Sanderlin Morgan. He was also preceded in death by infant brother, James Hobson Morgan; his maternal grandparents, Wilbur Guy Best, Sr. and Thelma Williamson Best; paternal grandparents, Allen Duke Morgan, Jr. and Jane Sanderlin Morgan; uncle Allen Duke Morgan, III; and special cousin, Zachary Taylor Best.
He is survived by his loving mother, Karen Sue Best of Lake Waccamaw, NC; brothers, Brian Sanderlin Morgan (Mey) and their children Jadie Teurn, Carrie Teurn and Luke Sanderlin of Visalia, CA; Owen Hobson Morgan (Roxana) and their children Pablo, Owen Bradley and Caroline Joy of Wilmington, NC; his uncle Wilbur Guy Best, Jr. (Alice); his cousins, William Alexander Best (Andrea) and their daughter, Santana Lennon (Chandler), Randy Guy Best (Tarra) and their children Austin and Macelyn Best of Brunswick, GA and special great-aunt, Nancy Sanderlin Collier of Whiteville, NC; and his mother's fiance, Charles LeGrande Smith of Lake Waccamaw, NC.
Hunter graduated in 1999 from Waccamaw Academy and attended UNC-W and SCC.
A visitation and memorial service will be held Saturday, October 30, at Peacock Funeral Home, Whiteville, NC.
The family will receive visitors at 1:30 p.m., with the service starting at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NC Boys and Girls Home, 400 Flemington Drive, Lake Waccamaw NC 28450.
