Iris Sasser Obituary

Mrs. Iris Pridgen Sasser  85, of Whiteville passed on Monday,  May 24, 2021 in Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Center, Whiteville.  She was born September 5, 1935 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Davis Moore Pridgen and Barbara Beard Pridgen.  

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Eugene C. Sasser; a son, Don Sasser and wife, Jessica of Greenville, NC; two daughters, Carla Moody and husband, Jimmy of Hallsboro, Pamela Helms of Lake Waccamaw; a sister, Mary Ellen Bowen and husband, Bronnie of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Clay Hagood, Mary Jo Craven, Anna Respess, Emily Andrews, Ellen Andrews; great grandchildren, Noah Craven, Hali Enzor, Hunter Hagood, Caden Hagood, Chloe Hagood, Victoria Tarro; great great grandchild, Parker Enzor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don, Douglas, Cameron and Davis Pridgen; a sister, Harriet Harris.

Her funeral  service will be at 3:00 pm Friday, May 28, 2021, graveside at Pierce Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Jordan officiating.  

Her family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:30 PM Friday, May 28, 2021 at Peacock Funeral Home.
