Joseph Clifton Gore 97, of Nakina, died Monday, December 17, 2018. He was born July 13, 1921 in Columbus County, the son of the late John Henry Vanderbilt Gore and Mary Ella Gore.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Hill Gore; parents; brothers, Waymon Gore, Billy Ray Gore, Wade Gore; sisters, Hazel Gore, Verna Gore, Cecil Gore; great grandson, Jacob Causey and great-great grandson, Mason Causey.
Mr. Gore was an active member of Bethesda Fellowship Church, an avid fisherman, and retired Farmer. He was a Veteran who served in the United States Air Corp in World War II.
He is survived by two sons, Anderson Gore and wife, Daisy of Gainesville, GA, Joseph E. Gore of Shallotte, NC; three daughters, Fran Morris of Nakina, Sherry Bober and husband, Robert of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Tina Ward of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Chris Gore and wife, Lisa, Pam Harper and husband, Scottie, Jonathan Whitlock, Sarah Cribb, Andrea Ward, Joshua Gore, Jami Ward, Brandon Gore, Madison Gore; great grandchildren, Hunter Cribb, Drake Cribb, River McPherson, Lillie McPherson, J.T. Gore, Jaida Poole, Matthew Causey, Caleb Green; brothers, Paul R. Gore of Ash, Jimmy B. Gore of Nakina, Kenneth E. Gore and wife, Martha Jane of Nakina; sisters, Esther Moses of Holden Beach, Shelby Linton of Thorntown, IN, Delores McCumbee of Ash; sister-in-law, Faye Gore of Nakina.
His funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Bethesda Fellowship Church in Nakina by Rev. Kenneth Sides. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, December 21, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home.
