Jack Marshall Thompkins (74) passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Jack grew up in Georgetown and Myrtle Beach, SC. He loved playing baseball, tag football and other games with friends in the neighborhood. Jack was a saved member of the Christian faith.
Jack is survived by his mother, Daisy Sutton Thompkins, his sister, Elizabeth Butler (Leon), two aunts, Patsy Hallman and Mary Sutton, several cousins including JoAnne Utterback (David), a nephew Sean Hardwick (Sarah), two great-nieces, a great- nephew, a special friend, Dyna Johnston, a step-daughter, Melanie Hinson (Chris), two step-sons, Colen and Gerald Ward (Jenna), three step-grandsons, Christopher, Brandon and Bradley, a step granddaughter, Ember; a step-great granddaughter Laramie, plus many dear friends old and new.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Thompkins and his wife, Betty Thompkins.
He loved the beach, riding his collection of bicycles, going to the gym, bird watching, reading and long walks. After attending Coastal Carolina, Jack worked in managerial positions for Frito Lay, National Spinning, Owens Corning and for Adrian Corporation in printing and was a manager and partner in a retail store.
Jack had an enormous heart and great sense of humor. He was generous, loyal and honest. He was wise with knowledge he gained through his life. He gave care and attention to each of his pets, the latest being his Yorkiee-poo, Teapot.
He will be remembered for taking time to be with and support his friends and family. He truly loved each of them. He will be missed dearly by many who hope to see him in the heavenly realm.
His visitation will be held at Peacock Funeral Home in Whiteville, NC on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 1:00PM. His funeral service will follow at 2:00PM at Peacock Funeral Home.
