Jackie Wayne Hinson of Whiteville NC passed away November 13, 2024. He was born to the late Wilson McCrae Hinson and Mary Evelyn Mercer Hinson.

He is survived by his son, Shane Hinson (Angie); daughter, Tonya Pait (Eric), and their mother, Janice Hinson; sisters, Angelia Reaves, Teresa Brown; brother, Sammy Hinson; grandchildren, Luke Pait (Kaylee), Zach Pait, Pierce Byerly, and Nikki Hinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Terry Hinson and Tony Hinson. In his former years, he built many homes in Columbus and Brunswick counties. He also enjoyed cabinetry work and kitchen remodels. He finished his work career with 30 years as an insurance adjuster. He would say his biggest accomplishment in life was being called Papa Jack. He adored his family and never met a stranger! He enjoyed family gatherings, eating oysters, watching the Wolfpack play ball, and going to church.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 2:00pm at Western Prong Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

His family will receive friends one hour prior to his service at the church.
