Jenette (Gore) Long

Mrs. Dorcas Jenette Gore Long, 86, of Nakina, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 8, 2020.  She was born August 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Robert Luther Hall Gore and Nettie Vassie Gore.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Joseph Long; parents; brothers, Howard and Edward Gore; sisters, Ola Leigh Cox, Agnes Stocks, Betty Long and Clovis Long.

Mrs. Long was a graduate of Tabor City High School.  She and her husband owned and operated Long's Seafood Restaurant of Nakina from  1956-1982, and she was the Bug Hill Senior Center Coordinator for 22 years until her retirement.  She was a member of Seven Creeks Missionary Baptist Church of Nakina.

She is survived by her son, David Arnold Long of Nakina; two daughters, Kimberly Long Holmes and husband, John of Whiteville, Pamela Long Stanley of Olyphic; two grandchildren, Jenny Godwin and husband, Jamie, Maggie Bellamy and husband, Adam; great grandchild, Colton Godwin; brother, Wilbur Guy Gore of Nakina; sister, Wanda Nell Stocks and husband, Charles of Nakina.

Out of respect for our family and friends, due to the unique circumstances of travel restrictions and health concerns, a private service will be held.
