Joe Cartrette

Mr. Herman Allen "Joe" Cartrette, Sr., 82, of Whiteville, died Thursday, May 21, 2020.  He was born February 22, 1938, the son of the late Clarence and Martha Richardson Cartrette.

Mr. Cartrette was a Veteran of the United States Army.  He formerly owned and operated What A Burger in Whiteville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jones Cartrette, parents and grandsons, Joshua Cartrette and Joey Cartrette.

He is survived by two sons, Herman Allen "Joey" Cartrette, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Whiteville, Joseph Cartrette of Shallotte; two daughters, Anne Cartrette of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tammy Todd and husband, Wayne of Whiteville; eight grandchildren, Brittany Cartrette Fowler and husband, Matt, John Crutchman, Curtis Crutchman, Stephanie Crutchman, Christy Collins, Laura Cartrette, Clifford Miller and Michael Todd; many great grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Sellers.

Out of respect for our family and friends, due to the unique circumstances of travel restrictions and health concerns, a private service will be held.
