Mr. John Davis "Johnny"  Norris 62, of Whiteville passed on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Angel House.  He was born July 31, 1960 in Columbus County, the son of Mrs. Charlotte Hoaglan Norris of Whiteville and the late Isaac D. Norris.

Mr. Norris was a supervisor with the NC Department of Corrections.  He was a member of the Gospel Gentlemen music group.

He is survived by his mother, Charlotte H. Norris; a son, Jonathan Norris of Whiteville; two daughters, Ashley  and Alison Norris both of Clarkton; two sisters, Cindy Baccarny and husband,  Steve of Colorado Springs, CO and Debra Edwards and husband, Benjamin of Whiteville; Grandchildren Leigha and Logan Deal; Nieces, Whitney Hall and Jami Burney; Nephew Isaac Norris.

He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac D. Norris; paternal grandparents, John Hubert & Carrie Love Norris; maternal grandparents, Elzo and Edna Hoaglan and a granddaughter, Kayleigh Norris.

His funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Friday, June 30, 2023 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Swain officiating. Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.

His family will receive friends 2:00 - 3:00 PM Friday at Peacock Funeral Home prior to the chapel service.
