Kathy Avery 66, of Chabourn passed peacefully with her beloved husband of 34 years by her side on Friday, March 1, 2024 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington. She was born in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Wayne Gore  and Etta Mae Caswell Fipps.  

After her retirement in business management, Kathy enjoyed going places and meeting people and making good friends and enjoyed working in their business, Avery Skins.  She will be missed by all who loved her dearly.

She is survived by her husband, Paul G. Avery; a daughter, Kathy Sue Avery Brock and husband Calvin of Stedman, NC; Granddaughter Amanda Brock Johnson and husband, Brad of Stedman, NC; a grandson, Charles Brock and wife, Jessica of Hope Mills, NC; great granddaughter, Autumn Johnson; a sister, Candace Butler and husband, Raymond of Chadbourn; several nieces and nephews, cousins and her fur babies.

Her funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Johnathan Simmons. Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to her service in the chapel.
