Lois "Jo" Virginia Sykes

Lois Virginia "Jo" Sykes 82, of Whiteville passed on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in New Hanover Regional Medical Center.  She was born July 26,1938 in Cumberland County, the daughter of the late William Ivey Hall and Bessie Lee Hall.  She was the widow of the late Lloyd Sykes.  She was a member of Brunswick Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, David Sykes and wife, Marie of Whiteville, Jody Sykes and fiancé, Tonni of Greenville; grandchildren, Brian Sykes, Ryan Sykes, Shane Sykes, Christy McNeese and J.T. Richardson; great grandchildren, D.J., Atlas, Kaytlyn, Isabella and Amelia.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; two daughters, Wanda Sykes and Sherry Lee Sykes; a granddaughter, Amanda Sykes; a great grandson, Christian; two brothers, William Ivey Hall and Curtis Hall; four sisters, Brentice Belche, Margaret Deaver, Faye Melvin and Reese Vaughn.

Her funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Chip Hannah.  Burial will be in the Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.
