Mrs. Lola Watts Beltz, 87, of Whiteville passed Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in Columbus Regional Healthcare. She was born June 25, 1933 in Columbus County the daughter of the late Early Bryant Watts and Rachel Ann Duncan Watts.
Lola was employed with her son at Whiteville Florist for 40 years. She was a devoted member of Living Word Church in Chadbourn. She enjoyed reading and doing Bible Study.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene “Papa Gene” Beltz; daughter, Kathy Beltz Moody; her parents; three brothers, Edward Watts, Jessie Watts, Roy M. Watts; two sisters, Pearl Watts and Dorothy Watts Mills.
She is survived by a son, Larry Beltz of Whiteville; two grandchildren, Michael Moody and wife, Megan of Texas, Mandy Moody Barnhill of Cerro Gordo; several great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Watts and wife, Violet of Nakina; three sisters, Martha McGahen and husband, Gene of Whiteville, Judy Faulk of Nakina, Pansy Dudley and husband, Guy of Hallsboro; many nieces and nephews; a granddog, Petie.
Her funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, November 15, 2020 graveside at Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park by Rev. Willard McPherson.
