Lucille Sellers

Lucille C. Sellers of Whiteville passed on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at her home. She was born in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Clarence Cartrette and Martha Richardson Cartrette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, UV Sellers;  a daughter, Rhonda Gay Elkins (Alyn Elkins); her parents; grandchildren, Brian Smith, Kaitlyn Elkins, great granddaughter, Sarah Alford;  four brothers, Herman Cartrette, Thurman Cartrette, James Cartrette and Jerry Cartrette; two sisters, Cecil McCumbee and Brenda Creech.
 

Lucille formerly was employed with  the Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Whiteville.  She was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.  She received an associate degree from Southeastern Community College.

She is survived by three daughters, Judy Sellers Herring (Stacy). Gail Sellers,  Sherry Sellers Smith (Mitchell) all of Whiteville;  grandchildren, Shane Ray (Elizabeth), Lisa Soles (Danny),  Anna Lynch, Allison Lynch, Kelly Carteret (Shane), Stanton Smith, Ezra Smith (Jamie), Stephanie Miller (Taylor), Lindsey Bowen (David); great grandchildren, Parker Ray, Mason Ray, Jackson Ray, Zac Soles, Austin Soles, Brianna Smith, Ashton Smith, Aaron Soles, Maddox Soles, Isabella Griffin, Ethan Smith, Emma Bowen, Nolan Smith; a great great granddaughter, Beckett Ruth Soles; sisters-in-law, Peggy Montalbano and Becky Sellers-Reeves.

Her funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Tuesday,  March 5, 2024 at Beaverdam Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Seay and Rev. Mitchell Smith officiating.  Burial will be in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to her service at the church.
