She was preceded in death by her parents Lucille and Jasper Rogers, and by her late husband Rudy Pettway.

My family would like to thank the staff of Carrollton of Fayetteville for their support and to everyone who provided care during the last months. We extend our deepest and sincere appreciation for the care and kindness shown during this difficult time.

Per Margaret’s wishes instead of a service, she would like for you to take some time and spend time with family, reflect on the good times we shared. She appreciated the scripture: The lord is my light and salvation, whom shall I fear – The lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid.

Words of kindness and fond memories of family and friends

Peter her cousin says Today we remember someone who brought joy, laughter, and warmth into our lives. Margaret was more than just a kind soul. She was the heart of so many moments, with her humor lifting spirit and her voice filling the room with music. She had a way of making others feel seen and heard, and her love for singing was just one of the many ways she brightened our lives. Though she is no longer with us, the memories of her laughter, kindness, and song will stay with us forever. Let us carry her spirit in our hearts and continue to live with the same light that she brought to this world.

Michael her eldest son Mom was very social and loved to enjoy her life. I remember when my wife and I took mom on a cruise and our first couple of days onboard mom was apprehensive about adventuring around the ship, it did not take long before it became hard to find mom around the ship. We had to have her paged and when we fond her, she says “You told me to have fun.” Mom, I was with you from beginning to end, near or far, here, or there, through thick and thin, and to the very end and I have no regrets. Mom you were a woman loved by many; you will be missed.

Amari her great granddaughter Roses are red, violets are blue. She was my great grandmother and my grandmother too. She had the beauty, talent, and smarts. She may be gone, but she still lives forever in our hearts.

Crystal her granddaughter A beautiful soul, with an infectious laugh, now you dance within the heavens. No more sickness on the shell of the body, for he has secured your soul. Thank you for the memories. I love you. Sleep in peace. Michael Jr. her grandson I know you are wearing a jogging suit in heaven, love you and you will be missed.

Shaneak her granddaughter Grandma was a woman of small stature, but with a big presentation. Her many stylish hats complimented her eye-opening outfits and artistic personality. There’s fond memory of her being a dreamer. She would often talk about winning the lottery with glimmering eyes. She talked about her plans of sharing the money with me. Grandma, you do not have to dream anymore. You are in the absolute best place ever -HEAVEN- and in close contact with the lord. Rest in Heaven.

Wilhelmina her daughter in law I know God has called another one of his angels to Heaven. I will never forget the girl talks we had together. You are a strong and beautiful woman. It was many things you taught me about being a woman. I love you and miss you so deeply. You will be forever in my heart. Now it is your time to rest and shine in Heaven. To my mother in love forever. Mona her cousin In our hearts We thought of you today. but that is nothing new. we thought about you yesterday. And days before that too. We think of you in silence. we often speak your name. Now all we have are memories. And your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake. With which we will never part. God has you in his keeping. And have you in our heart.

Edward McRay her son My Mother There is No Other My mother there is no other She raised me after her husband, my father passed She fed me, clothed me, and made sure I went to school in time And when I had bad grades, she would whip my behind My mother there is no other Man, I miss her so She used to turn the oven on when we didn't have no heat when it was cold Fed the dogs scraps and leftover food Sometimes she was cool and sometimes she was hot and not in a good mood My mother there is no other Yo, I remember we was on the Staten Island ferry back in the 80’s I am not going to lie I was paranoid, scary First thing I ask my mother “Where are the life jackets “ My heart was pounding.
