Margie Lee Rhodes Soles, age 93 of Whiteville, entered heaven's gates and no doubt heard well done, good and faithful servant on Christmas night, December 25, 2023. A native of Columbus County, she was born on December 4, 1930. Margie was the widow of Willie Kenneth Soles and daughter of the late Tommy Barden Rhodes and Bonnie Jane Long Rhodes. She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Allen Soles; a grandson, Hunter Wolfe Soles; and a sister, Perlie Rhodes McKeithan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Iris Jean Soles Inman Evans of Whiteville, NC; her sister, Tena Soles of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; grandchildren, Jimmy Dale Inman, Jr. and husband, Joshua Zumsteg of Auburn, WA; Donaver M. Evans II and wife, Joy Evans of Taylorsville, NC; and Misty Lynn Soles of Shallotte, NC; great-grandchildren, Gracie Evans, Joseph Evans, Donaver M. Evans, III, Kadin Evans, Natalie Evans, Luke Evans, Ethan Inman and Vance Evans; special family friends, Gary Flores and Ruth Brandt.
Margie will be remembered for her selfless dedication to proclaiming and sharing the love of Jesus through visitation in the hospital and nursing home, teaching Sunday school and conversation with friends and family. Margie loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called her "Granny". Margie never met a stranger and if you saw the blue Caprice, Lizzie, at Joe's Barbeque or the Southern Sizzler, then you knew a welcoming friend was near.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Bryson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow in the Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina, 400 Flemington Drive, Lake Waccamaw NC 28450 in her memory.
