Mary Beth (Wyatt) Brown Obituary

Mary Beth (Wyatt) Brown, of Columbus County, NC, passed away on May 22, 2026, in her home in Mechanicsville, Virginia. “Grammie” was born on November 1, 1940, and spent her working years with the General Electric Corporation.

She is predeceased by one son, Ricky; her parents, Roby and Pauline Wyatt; and her husband, Mathew S. Brown. Sr. The absence of her quiet love and support throughout the years of her life will leave a terrible hole in the hearts of her family and friends. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she leaves a legacy of unconditional love to her son, Mathew, his wife, Rebekah, grandsons, Andrew and Aaron, their wives, Elizabeth and Olivia, and her great-grandchildren, Eli, Norah, Matthew, and Daniel. “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

A gathering will be held at Shalom Baptist Church in Mechanicsville, VA, on Thursday, May 28th – visitation and reception in the fellowship hall from 3 to 3:45 PM, followed by a memorial service at 4 PM. The graveside service will be held at Columbus Memorial Park in Whiteville, NC on Sunday, May 31st at 2 pm.
