Melvin Singletary Obituary

Melvin Singletary of Tabor City, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023. He was born October 19, 1952, the son of the late Elmer Singletary and late Lizzie Ward.

He is survived by his wife Shelia Singletary; two daughters, Misty Cortes of Chesapeake, VA, Erica Cain of Tabor City, NC; seven grandchildren, Kage Kersey, Justin Walker, Skyler Singletary, Ana Cortes, Bentley Spurlock, Aaliyah Spurlock, Ryker Spurlock, one great grandchild, Lavance Flora III.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Singletary and Lizzie Singletary; daughter, Tangela Singletary; brother, Michael Singletary; sisters Pat Shaw and Doris Faulk.

His funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Gores Chapel Church by Rev. Glenn Lane. Interment will follow at Gores Chapel Church Cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, November 13, 2023 at Peacock Funeral Home.
