Michael Prostinak Obituary

Michael Prostinak, 82, Passed away peacefully on May 16,2025 at home. He was born on February 22,1943 in Moundsville, W.Va. to Joseph and Margaret Prostinak. Michael was a 1961 graduate of Bishop Donahue Memorial High School, he then entered into the U.S. Navy until honorably discharged in 1970. Michael leaves behind his loving wife, Dorothy (Dottie) of 47 years, along with his step son, Kenneth P. Henderson (La Donna) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, step daughter, Melissa A. Page of Concord, NC, grandchildren, Matthew P. Page, Brittany McClure, Samantha B. Henderson, Sheridan Ferrand, Megan N. Henderson, Mackenzie L. Page, and six great grandchildren. Michael worked for the Jacksonville Police Dept., Jacksonville, NC, the Atlantic Police Dept, Atlantic Iowa, and the Town of Lake Waccamaw Police Dept, Lake Waccamaw, NC, where he was the police chief, then later he became the town administrator for ten years. He later went on to become the supervisor of the Waste Water Treatment Plant until he retired in January 2020, making it 30 plus years serving the Town of Lake Waccamaw.


Remaining to cherish Michaels memory are his wife, step children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. At Michaels request there will be no funeral service or memorial held.
