Mildred Reaves Hancock of Whiteville NC passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024. She was born in Columbus County to the late Ernest Reaves and Mary Ellis Sing.

She is survived by her sons, Milton Hancock III, Gregory Ward, Darrell Ward; daughters, Joan Ward (Gerald), Kimberly Ritchart; sisters, Judy Peters, Betty Welch (Marty); grandchildren, Kateleen Howard (Mark), Ethan Pratt, Markus Gore, Brittany Ward, Tara Ward; great-grandchildren, Kha'liyah Keel, Kingston Howard.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Milton Hancock; brothers, Bobby Sing, Tommy Sing, Buster Reaves; sister, Sandra Wyrick.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday October 10, 2024 at 2:00pm at Peacock Funeral Home's Chapel with the Rev. David Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Peacock's Columbus Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to her service at Peacock Funeral Home.
