Minnie Pearl Herring, 79, of Whiteville passed on January 20,2021. She was born in Columbus County the daughter of the late Steve and Ruby Etheridge Long. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Horace Long, Woodrow Long, Ralph Long, Joe Long, Vernon Long an Raymond Long and two sisters, Ivey Clewis and Olive Clewis.

She is survived by a son, Randy Herring of Crusoe; a brother, David Earl Long and wife, Alecia of Whiteville; three sisters, Alice Gray Ward and husband, Howard of Whiteville, Ada Etheridge of Whiteville, and Willeree Wade and husband, Ervin of SC; a grandson, Andrew Lee Herring of Whiteville.
