Robert E. Smith

Mr. Robert Earl Smith 77, of Marion, SC passed on Saturday June 5, 2021 in Nakina.  He was born October 27, 1943 in Marion, SC the son of  the late Earl Bright Smith and Mary Kate Hewitt Smith.

Mr. Smith was a member of Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church.  He owned and operated Robert's Barn for 38 years. He served in the Army National Guard for eight years.

He is survived by his wife, Velma T. Smith; four sons, Robert Smith, Jr. of Marion, SC,  Ricky Smith of Clio, SC, Rocky Smith of Marion SC, Joe Thompson of Whiteville, NC; daughters, Vicki Williams and husband, Hollywood of Wilmington, Amy Stocks and husband, Randy of Nakina; sisters, Betty Brewer of Marion , SC, Sylvia Capps and husband, Charles of  Marion, SC; grandchildren, Brittany Scheib, Courtney Smith, Jory Smith, Hunter Smith, Daniel Thompson, Nolan Ward and Nathan Ward; eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sister, Shirley Gunter, Brenda Bailey and Ruth Hunsucker. 

His funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday June 9, 2021 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev.Thad Jacobs.

Burial will be in the Rockwell Cemetery.

His family will receive friends 2:00 - 3:00 PM Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Peacock Funeral Home.
