Rose Ross Obituary

Rose Ross Obituary

With heavy hearts, we remember the life of Rose Register Ross, 64, of Nakina, who passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026. Rose was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished educator, and dear friend whose kindness and compassion touched countless lives.

Rose dedicated much of her life to serving others through education. As a teacher at Old Dock Elementary School, she inspired generations of students with patience, encouragement, and genuine care. She believed every child deserved to feel valued and capable, and she carried that belief into her classroom each day.

A proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Rose lived a life grounded in service, humility, and love for her community. She was known for her warm smile, gentle spirit, and ability to make others feel welcome and cared for.

Above all, Rose treasured her family. She shared a loving life with her husband, Greg, and found her greatest joy in being a mother to Josh and David, and a supportive presence to those she loved. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

Rose will be remembered for the lives she touched, the kindness she freely gave, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. Though deeply missed, her legacy will continue through her family, friends, students, and all who were blessed to know her.

May her memory bring comfort and peace to those who loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Lynn Ross; sons, William David Ross of Nakina, NC, Joshua Taylor Ross (Megan) of Nakina, NC; brothers, Carlton Register (Valerie) of Whiteville, NC, Glenn Register of Whiteville, NC; sister, Deborah Smith of Nakina, NC; sister-in-law, Teresa Ross of Nakina, NC; niece, Tammy Rhodes of Nakina, NC.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Wayne Register.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Palmyra Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Stocks officiating. Burial will be held at Ross Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior at the Church.
