             Rose Mary Sobczak Davis

Mrs. Rose Mary Davis 55, of Whiteville died Sunday, August 11, 2013.  She was born in Germany and grew up at Lake Waccamaw the daughter of the late Police Chief John Sobczak and Doris Dew Sobczak. 

She was a substitute teacher in the Whiteville Public Schools and formerly employed with Interim Healthcare.  She received a criminal justice degree from Southeastern Community College.

She is survived by her husband, Van Davis; a daughter Mary Ellen Davis of Whiteville, Virginia Long of Wilmington; two grandsons, Brayden and Bryson Davis; four sisters, Josephine Albergo and husband, Nick of Inverness, FL, Jeannie Galloway and husband, Michael of Inverness, FL, Doris Bell and husband, Wayne of Whiteville, Anne Etheridge and husband, Jimmy of Crusoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Patricia E. Ross of Michigan.

Her funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, August  14, 2013 at Trinity Baptist Church. 

The family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:30 pm Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Peacock Funeral Home.
