Mrs. Ruth A. Honeycutt of Whiteville died Tuesday, October 1, 2019. She was born July 20, 1928 in Robeson County the daughter of the late James D. and Ruth Marie Jones Adams.
Ruth was a receptionist for Columbus County Hospital and retired from Southeastern Community College. She was known for her kindness and sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Honeycutt; parents; a daughter, Linda Bell; brothers, Jimmy, Paul, Charles and Sandy Adams.
She is survived by her sons, Jerome Honeycutt and wife, Elaine of Chadbourn, Kenneth Honeycutt and Cindy Garrison of Whiteville; daughters, Vickie Mattocks and husband, Ricky of Clinton, Jimi Kay Smith and husband, Doug of Whiteville; son-in-law, Terry Bell of Tabor City; grandchildren, Paige Hinson, Jennifer Honeycutt, Bradley Bell, Jeffrey Bell, Jessica Ando, Leslie Mattocks; great grandchildren, Lilah Elliott, Emily Hinson, Abbie Hinson, Tony Ando, Jackson Ando, Parker Mattocks, Preston Bennett and Jase Powell.
Her graveside service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park by Rev. Chip Hannah.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to her service at Peacock Funeral Home.
