SSG Jack Dodd, USA Ret Obituary

SSG Jack Ivan Dodd, USA Ret 93, of Council passed on April 11, 2022 in Bladen County Hospital. He was born in Bladen County, the son of the late John Ivan Dodd and Clemmie S. Newell Dodd. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Tedder Dodd; daughters, Peggy Gulick and Barbara Smith; brothers, Johnny Dodd, George Dodd, and David Dodd; sisters, Virginia Fredere, Melba Dodd and Princie McDuffie.

Mr. Dodd retired from Federal Paper Board after more than 20 years. He retired from the US Army and served in Korea. He was a member of the Delco Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Cutrell of Wilmington; nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Comeford of Smithfield.

His funeral service with military honors will be at 3:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2022 graveside at Flynn Cemetery with Jerry T. Green officiating.
