Sarah Stutts Obituary

Sarah Stutts 82, of Whiteville passed on Sunday, January 7, 2024  at her home.


Sarah was a teacher in the Moore county public school system for over 10 years and retired from public school teaching in Columbus county. Post retirement she was a part of the Good News Ministry program at Williams Township school as well as being a Lay Minister in the United Methodist Church for several years of which she was a lifelong member. Sarah was a graduate of Williams Township High School and later graduated from Presbyterian Junior College and High Point University.


She is survived by three sons, Jaye Ward Cheek (wife Cindy) of Willow Spring, NC, Jody Ray Cheek (wife Doris) of Kingsport, TN  and William Blain Stutts (wife Tara)of  Whiteville, NC; five grandchildren, Michael Cheek, Mitchell Cheek, Ray Cheek, Robert Cheek and Will Stutts;  five great grandchildren; Abby Cheek, Lincoln Cheek, Mazie Cheek, Terran Cheek and Callum Cheek.


A memorial service is planned by her family at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Lebanon United Methodist Church.
