Susan Glover Locklear

Susan Phelps Glover Locklear, 78, of Lake Waccamaw, NC passed on Thursday, December 9, 2021 after a brief hospital stay. She was born December 6, 1943 in St. Croix, Virgin Islands, the daughter of the late Franklin Marvin Glover, Jr. and Nellie Gray Phelps Glover. She resided for many years in her home in Lake Waccamaw with her beloved cat Maggie.

Susan is predeceased by her husband Maurice Dallas Locklear. Surviving family members are her sister, Hope Glover Longest, husband Daniel, of Topsail Beach, nephew Glover Longest, wife Tania, of Raleigh.

Susan graduated from Campbell College with a BA Degree in English. Susan worked in social services, healthcare, retail business and a teacher over her lifetime.  Susan’s joys and talents included painting, basket weaving, making grapevine wreaths and gardening.

She will be interred beside her husband at Lake Waccamaw Hillside Cemetery.
