Teddy Gene Stone,  83 of Sanford, formerly of Fairmont passed on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026 in Forsyth Senior Estates in High Point, NC.  She was born in Robeson County, the daughter of the late Hubert Monroe Stone and Imogene Walters Stone.  

She received an associate degree in dentistry and formerly worked as a dental hygienist in several dentist offices. She was young at heart and worked many years at Robeson Health Department where she loved her work family. She never had kids of her own but she loved all of her nieces and nephews like they belonged to her and she had so much love for her beloved pets.

She is survived by four sisters, Dixie Gurkin Smith (Robert) of Riegelwood, Jackie Bass (Horace) of Lake View, SC, Melody Bullock of Lake View, SC and  Starla Graves (Bob) of KY; nieces and nephews, Soundra Brannan,  Jeannie Miller, Kristy Sanderson, Pamela Cumber, Michael Gurkin, Shelia DuGosh, Angie  McDuffie, Dena Lewis, Arin Capps, Candace Martin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Williams; brother, Stanley "Butch"  Stone; sisters, Stormy Jones and Betty Williamson; nephew, Brian Smith; niece, Ashleigh Williamson.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Barnesville Baptist Church with Rev. John Spencer officiating. Located at 234 Barnesville Baptist Church Rd. Orrum, N.C.

Her family will receive friends one hour prior to her service. Burial will be held at Peacocks Columbus Memorial Park.
