Vickie Hamilton Obituary
It is with profound sadness and shock that we share the passing of Vickie Babson Hamilton, lovingly known as “KiKi,” a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and the matriarch and heart of her family.
Vickie was born on April 13, 1956, a beloved daughter of the late Janette Elaine Lennon Babson and Bobby Babson. She grew up in a family rooted in faith, love, and service; values she carried faithfully throughout her life.
A graduate of Bob Jones University, Vickie dedicated many years to education, following in her mother’s footsteps as a teacher. She had a deep love for children and a gift for nurturing both minds and hearts. Her true passion was the craft of making draperies and pillows as she was a talented seamstress and designer and the proud owner of Victoria Interiors, where her creativity and eye for beauty brought joy to many.
Vickie was a faithful member of The Baptist Church of Beaufort her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived, served, and loved others. Her deep and abiding faith was the foundation of her life and a testimony to all who knew her.
She was the loving wife of Paul Hamilton of Port Royal, SC, and a devoted mother to Heather Hawkins Allison (Josh) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Jerel Hawkins (Marianne) of Beaufort, SC, Chris Hamilton (April) of Aiken, SC, and Melissa (Missy) Hamilton Smith (Bailey) of Beaufort, SC. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her eight beloved grandchildren, who knew her affectionately as “KiKi” - Zoè Hamilton, Bella Smith, Connor Hamilton, Olivia Smith. Lily Allison, Harper Hawkins, Quinn Allison and Sloane Hawkins.
She is also survived by her father, Bobby Babson; her siblings: Larry Babson (Brenda) of Delco, NC; James Babson (Rachel) of Snoqualmie, WA; and Sherll Barnes (Doyce) of Calabash, NC; along with many nieces and nephews, other extended family, and many dear friends.
Vickie passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, after a sweet and loving conversation with her husband, a gentle reflection of the warmth and love that defined her life. She fell asleep and woke up in the presence of Jesus. Because of her strong faith, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior.
She was the glue that held her family together and the light that made life more beautiful. Her love, strength, dependability, creativity, and steady presence will be deeply missed every day.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Ronald Hawkins, with whom she shared two children (Heather and Jerel), grandparents, one infant grandchild, and other cherished loved ones who welcomed her into eternal rest.
Funeral services will be held at The Baptist Church of Beaufort on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 11 AM. Visitation will begin one hour prior in the church sanctuary. Grandchildren request that all wear colorful clothing to celebrate the color Kiki added to life.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 11:00am at Golden Daybreak Cemetery, 900 Lennon Road, Delco, NC 28436.
