Mr. Wade Gore was one of my absolute favorites. He was a pleasure to know and love. He was a spiritual soul while on his earthly walk and I know he is now resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Dear Faye and Family:

In writing my book, I learned the qualities that make men great. Our modern day definition of greatness is mostly a joke. Wade was not famous and would have turned down the chance of being so. Wade was a great man because he was a Man's Man(Lover of God, Family, Fellowman and Freedom) and he was not ashamed to show it! Wade was a special and GOD fearing man. I never remember hearing anything bad about him in his life. I have loved him and all of his family all his life. I know he is in HEAVEN with the one's who have gone before. I will remember the family in my prayers.

There are only so many kind, wonderful, caring, thoughtful people in the world. Wade was all of that and more. Such a special man. I am thankful that I got to meet and spend time with Wade and Faye while visiting in NC. He had such a shy, sweet smile. How could someone be so pleasant all the time??? I met Wade some years ago when I preached a revival at Bethesda for Preacher Carroll. Wade was the first one to greet me when arrived, and he made sure to give me a huge welcome each night that week. Following the revival, Wade would go out of his way to speak to me if he ever saw me around town. He was a true picture of Christian hospitality. I think the last time I saw him was with Faye at Annual Conference in Greenville. I'm blessed to have been touched by his life. My prayers go out to Faye and the rest of the family, and to the people of Bethesda UMC.
